Major features of PPG’s secure data management include:

• Secure Storage

To protect against intrusion, participant data are not stored in databases on Internet servers. PPG works on secure local servers are not accessible from the Internet.

• Anonymous Data

Participant identity is not stored with data. Data are identified only with a code.

• Restricted Access

Access to data is strictly limited to the PPG research team. Surveys are sent directly to PPG. PPG returns reports directly to participants. Participant data are never released to any other organization or any other firm.

• Aggregated Results

Reports present aggregated results that don’t expose individual participant data. Strict auditing procedures mask results for small samples. To prevent attempts to crack data to reveal an individual company’s figures, the dashboard tools that accompany reports do not include individual participant data.

• Document Destruction

After processing, forms and documents submitted for PPG studies are destroyed by a bonded document destruction service.
